Welcome to my new blog. I figure I’ll delete this entry later because I’ll no longer need it. My purpose in creating this blog is three fold: to fulfill course requirements for one of the professional development classes I am taking this summer, to demonstrate another possible “container” for digital portfolios for the workshop a friend and I are leading this summer, and to determine which blogging site is the best to use with my students this fall.
I’m impressed that Word Press has cool features like the ability to add a poll or media or a contact form easily. That’s pretty cool! There’s also a “distraction free” mode that gives you only the area you need for typing. I could see that that might be helpful for some students. And it has a word count status bar?! THAT could come in very handy if we do NaNoWriMo this year! 🙂
